Laugh and/or thought provoking reads for the weekend before the election.
from Jon Swift
“Many Americans are still unclear as to what is pro-America and what is anti-America, so I have made a handy chart that will give you some examples.”
Very amusing blog post, and well written. At first, I thought this was serious, but instead it has a rather dry humor that eerily touches on some of the stereotypes that democrats and liberals have found themselves facing, especially during recent months in this election.

” I, for one, welcome our new Democratic Party overlords. I’d like to remind them that as a trusted independent blogger, I can be helpful in soliciting more fat cat donors, and rounding up others to toil in their “mandatory volunteer service corps.”
I don’t really agree with the viewpoints expressed in this blog entry, but I must admit that I found the writing clever and entertaining.
from Alli, at The Smoking Argus
“With Election Day less than one week away, voters in 3 states, Florida, California, and Arizona will again be voting on whether same sex couples should be allowed to “marry”. The debate regarding whom can marry is yet another example of politicians creating and fostering a wedge between Americans.”
Serious commentary concerning the gay marriage legislation on the table in several states.
Also from Alli:
“In past conversations with colleagues and friends, I have often commented that some day soon the internet our generation has come to know, the wealth of information available via the click of a mouse, will cease to exist. That in the place of this unfiltered and uncensored access to information, will come a government controlled, censored version of the world wide web under the auspices of the FCC or some other bloated failure of a bureaucracy.”
from Phil for Humanity
“I recently received my official sample ballot for the General Elections. And once again, I can only scratch my head when reading the new proposed laws that I am suppose to vote for.”
Phil writes about a serious problem that many American voters face.
from Dr. Alan Singer
“Just in time for election day: Red States have more divorce, blue states have smaller families…Don’t forget to Vote”
Dr. Alan Singer posts a very thorough essay on the differences in family issues between Republicans and Democrats.
from Yid With Lid
“It was an overreaction said the Yid, as soon as I mentioned Marx he flipped out. I wasn’t even talking about Karl Marx. I just asked him what his favorite Marx brothers movie was and he got all huffy.”
from GrrlScientist
“At one time, I respected — note the past tense of the word — Elizabeth Dole, but after seeing this astonishing ad that her campaign aired in NC against her political opponent, Kay Hagen, I am disgusted. At the end of the ad, there is a picture of Hagen and a voice-over saying “there is no god” — the implication being that Hagen, a christian, actually said this.”
